The New Holden Colorado - Body Styles

Whether you use it for work, family or as the ideal means of transport for an active lifestyle, the all-new Colorado is set to change the way you think about light commercial vehicles (LCV) when it arrives in showrooms this year.

Developed with input from all corners of the General Motors world including Holden, the new Colorado offers a stylish and distinctive design, class-leading towing capacity and outstanding performance from its new diesel powertrain, and plenty of space inside and out for business or pleasure.
A Holden concept version of the new vehicle was first seen at last year's Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. Now with the final production version unveiled, that same stylish and sporty design is set to give the Colorado a very distinctive presence on the road.

That presence will be backed up with plenty of performance from the new 2.8-litre Turbo Diesel engine that delivers 132kW of power and when matched to a five-speed manual transmission produces 440Nm of torque. When matched with an optional all-new six-speed automatic transmission it produces an impressive 470Nm of torque from just 2000rpm. That's a massive 30% increase in maximum torque from the previous Colorado diesel model. All versions of the 2.8-litre Colorado will have class leading towing capacity of 3500kg, perfect for pulling the boat or towing the van.

Regardless of model, all Colorado's will have a payload of over one tonne, perfect for loading up all your work tools, camping gear or all manner of equipment to suit an active lifestyle.

Needless to say, the new Colorado will also feature plenty of space inside with the stylish dual-cockpit design, flowing instrument panel and integrated center stack combining car-like characteristics with the boldness expected in a mid-size LCV.

Passenger car-like safety has also been a development priority, every model features Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), front passenger and driver airbags and side curtain airbags as standard.

Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mike Devereux said the new Colorado was sure to shine as the latest world-class instalment in Holden's ongoing product renaissance.
"Without doubt the new Colorado will be the biggest and toughest member of the Holden family equally at home, as a workhorse or active lifestyle vehicle."

The New Holden Volt - Coming Soon!
Power to Change
Somebody has to be first. Somebody has to create the future. Introducing the ground-breaking Holden Volt - an electric vehicle without range restrictions.

Want to drive purely on electricity? You can. The Holden Volt is electric when you want it, petrol when you need it. Because being first means you don't compromise - you lead.

Game Changing
The Holden Volt is an electric vehicle that goes further. You have the electric source - the battery - and a backup system that we call range-extending, which uses a petrol engine to generate electricity that allows you to continue your drive. These two onboard sources of energy make the Holden Volt significantly different from other electric or hybrid vehicles. It means you can hit the roads less travelled with confidence.
Enhance efficiency. Do more with less. Battery power doesn't have to be finite.

Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV)
A single charge of the Holden Volt's long-life lithium-ion battery pack will allow most Australians to complete their daily commute using only electricity. This means zero tailpipe-emissions driving, so the environment, and your wallet, will thank you.
The Holden Volt marks the end of range anxiety. Even if you never use it, you know you've got a backup plan.
As an EREV, the Holden Volt is different to a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, due to the fact that the vehicle's wheels are always driven electrically by an electric drive unit. This gives the ability to drive an EREV using only electricity, depending on driving habits. On the other hand, the Holden Volt is able to extend its range via the backup petrol engine which recharges the battery, setting it apart from electric only vehicles. For these reasons, the Holden Volt stands apart as the leader in this new technology.

Electricity - A more sensible primary fuel
It doesn't get much simpler than that. With an overnight charge, most Australians will be able to complete their daily commute without the need for petrol. The standard 240V charging kit allows you to plug into a conventional electrical outlet and fully charge the battery in 6-8 hours, depending on climate.

Innovation Everywhere
The drive for innovation doesn't stop there. While the Holden Volt utilizes conventional anti-lock disc brakes, it also features regenerative braking, a process that captures some of the energy normally lost during braking, converting it to electricity that's stored in the battery. Coming to a stop or running toward the horizon, the Holden Volt has the kind of performance many other cars are trying to catch up to.

Dashboard Reimagined
Display advanced thinking. See everything that matters. Two interactive, high resolution LCD screens constantly provide feedback; like real-time info on energy usage and power flow. The screen in front of the steering wheel is configurable and displays much of what a traditional instrument cluster would. Shift your gaze to the left and you'll see even more advanced thinking, where a seven-inch colour touch-screen can display efficiency feedback based on your driving style.
With choice comes empowerment. Now you can drive the way you've always wanted-not the way you always have.

All over Aerodynamic Aesthetics
The Holden Volt doesn't compromise aesthetics to enable function. Countless hours in the wind tunnel influenced the styling of many exterior components including mirrors, a closed grill, rocker panels and the rear lip spoiler. In fact, the vertical blades that go from the bottom of the spoiler to the bottom of the bumper were designed specifically to trick the air into separating from the bumper more quickly, giving the Holden Volt extraordinary aerodynamics.
The result? A vehicle that looks sporty, quick, smooth and modern, yet achieves an extremely low coefficient of drag.

Instand Torque at zero
Without a traditional transmission, the Holden Volt's impressive low-end torque has nowhere to go except the tyres and bitumen. This helps explain why a vehicle with an electric propulsion system can feel so powerful and exhilarating, all in a smooth whisper-like quiet ride. For everyday use, you'll find there's just as much fun in driving the Holden Volt from A to B in the most efficient manner possible.
Performance and efficiency. You will have to drive the Holden Volt to believe.
